Jason Snead, Executive Director of Honest Elections Project:

“Mere days after the Pennsylvania Supreme Court ruled that undated mail ballots should not be counted, liberal groups are back in court trying to force officials to ignore the law. This new lawsuit filed by the ACLU, Common Cause, the NAACP, and other left-wing organizations seeks to force Pennsylvania officials to blatantly disregard the law and count undated and wrongly dated mail-in ballots. There must be commonsense safeguards in place for voting. Lawsuits like this risk chaos, confusion, and delayed results that fuel public uncertainty in elections.

“Honest Elections Project is proud to have filed an amicus brief in the Pennsylvania Supreme Court against Acting Secretary of State Leigh Chapman, who also wants to count undated ballots in violation of the law. There is no constitutional right to vote by mail and correctly filling out one’s ballot is a simple step to prevent illegal late voting. It should be easy to vote and hard to cheat, and nobody should put politics ahead of the law.”
